Sweet cousins!

Lindsay had off for MLK Day, so Jake and I headed to Decatur to hang out with her and Kylie.
Kylie was so sweet with Jake. It will be so fun to see these two grow up together. They are just 11 months apart.

Two-month check up=4 shots

Jake had his 2-month check up on Tuesday, January 22. We were dreading this appointment because we knew Jake would have to get 4 shots. He did great though! He only cried for about 25 seconds and then we had a bottle ready for him and he was fine! The nurse was very good and quick which made it easy and went by so fast.

Poor Jake was sound asleep and had no idea what was coming.

I think he wants to punch us here for waking him up
Jake cried for about 25 seconds after the shots and then he was fine and back to sleep after a bottle

We do love these doctor's appointment though so we can see how much our little boy has grown! We definitely have a growing boy as he weighed in at 10 pounds 10.5 ounces! We took guesses again on how much he would weigh and Brian was the closest again- he was just 6 ounces shy. Brian has been the closest each time. Mom had the worst guess this time... She was 2 pounds under!

Happy 2 months!

 Dearest Jake,

You continue to bring us so much joy! We are having so much fun with you!

You are still a great sleeper: 5-6 hours straight each night and then usually two naps during the day for about 1.5-2 hours each. You have also established a nap routine. When you wake up, you are immediately ready for your bottle and don't like the time it takes to heat it up. You go back to sleep right away right after your night time bottle.

We love your little noises! We just laugh sometimes when you get a little fussy (which is not often though usually just when you are hungry) because it is so precious to see and hear your little crying noises. We are thankful that you have not given us any crying fits at all yet. The times you have cried, we were able to make you happy again within minutes with a bottle, holding you, or turning you around so you could see out.

We've taken you out to a few places and you have done great! You seem to like your car seat and going for rides.

You still love being around mommy and daddy and if you are awake you have to be able to see us.

You are starting to outgrow your newborn clothes. You are our growing boy... You have gained 5 pounds since you were born and grew three inches longer (5lbs, 9oz when born, now 10lbs, 11oz)!  You are definitely a good eater... you are up to 4.5-5oz of mommy's milk every 3-4 hours.

The time is going by so fast and we are amazed every day to see you growing and developing.

Go Falcons... on to the NFC Championship!

Our little Falcons fan!

Jake hung out with his Aunt Brooke and Aunt Brittany and cousins while Brian and I went to the game with Candy, Alan, Brandon, Lindsay, Brad, and Melissa.

We enjoyed a couple of hours of tailgating before the game.

We did brunch for the tailgate since it was early morning... kickoff was 1pm.

I made this plate for  tailgating food.

Brad had a Boston Butt for us fresh off his green egg!  Yummy!

The Dome was the craziest I have ever seen and heard!  Very electric inside!

Most exciting game any of us had ever been to!! I had given up hope, but Brian kept the faith and the Falcons won in the last seconds of the game!

Jake is ready to cheer the Falcons to victory next week for the NFC championship!

Jake looks like...

We have heard some people say Jake looks like me and then some say he looks like Brian and then others say he is a mixture of both of us. We got out our baby pictures (not many compared to how many Jake has already!) to see if we could tell who he looked like. I have a hard time ever being able to tell who a baby looks like even with my own baby I can't tell. Who do you think Jake looks like?

Home Alone

Jan. 9...
Brian had a work conference in Athens for two days, so it was just Jake and me. We managed our first night by ourselves! We'll be happy for daddy to come to home later today though!

First shopping trip

We decided Jake needed to get out of the house, so we went shopping together. To just one store though as we are still being careful with him getting sick.

And as a bonus... We got great deals at Dick's!

We are looking forward to making many memories with our sweet boy in 2013!

Mimi is 60!!

My mom (Mimi) turned 60 on New Year's Day. She requested that we just keep it simple and have brunch with her. Brian and I hosted my parents and Andrea and her family at our house.
