23 Weeks

How far along? 23 Weeks (and 1 day)
Baby Movement: Oh yes! I have been feeling Jake in my ribs and against my sides.
Sleep: Some nights good, some nights just okay this week.
It's fun being pregnant... And getting to park in special expectant mother parking spaces!! I registered at Buy Buy Baby this week, and I enjoyed taking advantage of those parking spaces!
Funny moment this week... Teaching 7th grade is always an adventure... The kids are so funny! One boy asked me this week when I was due and I told him December 27 and he responded with, 'Oh good. We still have some time before you get mean and crazy like other pregnant ladies!'
Exciting Moment... Ordering our nursery bedding! We are doing a nautical theme and I found some bedding online that I liked. I was very pleased with it when it arrived! I like it better than the online picture I had seen!!
How have I been feeling... Sunday was probably one of the worst days I have had since being pregnant. I spent the night in McDonough at mom and dad's because Andrea and her girls were there. I woke up around 2am with a lot of pain on my right side by my shunt. I tried taking some different medicine and moving around, but nothing helped! Jake must have been sleeping and comfy and didn't want to move! Finally around 9am the pain let up. It was off and on then throughout the day.
Doctor... Went back to the doctor again this week so they could check my blood pressure and protein in urine again since it was a little high last week. Everything was fine this week though!!
Food cravings: Tomatoes on my sandwich at lunch with a little mayo! I've been making lunch for Brian and me every day this year.
Looking forward to: A weekend at the lake with family and friends. And... Having Monday off!

22 Weeks

WE OFFICIALLY HAVE A NAME...
JACOB BRIAN LUNSFORD!!!

How far along? 22Weeks (and 1 day)
Maternity clothes? No. I did wear the bella band two days this week to work though!
Weight Gain... 14 pounds!!!  Though the doctor said that my belly is still measuring small though because I am tall.
Am I Showing... Oh yes!  It's exciting though.  Many ladies at work are already asking to rub my belly.
Sleep: Still GREAT!!!
It's fun being pregnant... and looking at nursery decor.  I have decided on a nautical theme so I spend a lot of time on google and pinterest getting ideas!
Funny moment this week... At church on Wednesday night with the Class of 2016 girls, we were playing a game where you had to switch chairs if a question applies to you.  One of the questions was "have you not had your first kiss?"  I got up to move chairs and the teenage girls were like ummm wait a minute, you're pregnant though!  We all got a good laugh!
Exciting Moment... Officially deciding on a name!  Jacob Brian Lunsford is our little guy!  We will call him Jake!  It's exciting to have a name and not have to call him little guy, buddy, or baby boy all the time anymore!  Everyone in our family seems to like the name, so we are excited!  And, I haven't had any students that were named Jacob that were bad so that is a plus!!!
How have I been feeling... I was sick Monday and had to miss work.  My own fault though for eating too many sweets the night before!  My stomach does not seem to be a fan of sugar anymore.  I need to learn to say no to sweets or stop after a bite or two! I feel great though otherwise.  I did go to the doctor on Tuesday and I had high blood pressure and protein in my urine so I have to go back again this coming Tuesday so they can run those tests again to check for preeclampsia.  Praying that everything is good this week!
Movement: Definitely more movement everyday.  No kicks or hard jabs yet though.  Jake has decided that he likes my right side more now where my shunt is though so that hurts some.  I try to tap my belly and lean to the left to try to get him to move over.
Food cravings:  Cinnamon Apple Sauce.
Happy or Moody most of the time: HAPPY!!!  Things are going so well for us!
Looking forward to: Having some girl time at my mom's with my sister and nieces tomorrow.  Though Emily Grace said it was not girl time "because Gigi is bringing that boy!"  She still is not so sure about a boy cousin!

Fantasy Football Draft Party

Brian has been hosting a fantasy football draft party for years at his house, and the tradition has continued.
I am thinking Brian has the winning team this year! Go Lunsanity!!
Brian smoked two Boston Butts for 17 hours on the Big Green Egg for the draft party and they were delicious!
It was a fun night especially after the draft just hanging and going down memory lane with everyone.

21 Weeks

How far along? 21 Weeks (and 2 days)
Maternity clothes? No. I don't think it will be much longer though until I start wearing them!
Am I Showing... Oh yeah!  I think this was the first week that you could tell I was pregnant every single day!
Sleep: I am sleeping well.  I am getting used to the whole sleeping on my side thing.  I have not had any more shoulder pain since I stopped sleeping on my stomach so that is wonderful.
It was fun being pregnant this week... When my mom and I went to Babies 'R' Us to register.  Baby stuff is so cute!  There is a lot of it though!  I was really tired and my feet really hurt!  Also, it is very true about the selection for boy stuff being MUCH LESS than the selection for girl's stuff!  Another fun event this week was starting the DIG (Digging into God) Class of 2016 girls group at church.  They are a fun group of girls and I am so excited to work with them each week!  They even started talking about babysitting our little guy! YEAH!
Exciting Moment... Discussing nursery ideas with my parents.  My plan is to have the nursery painted and decorated by the end of September ~ my fall break.  My dad happens to be home all that week so he is going to help.  I had dinner with my parents Thursday night and we sat and discussed ideas.  I can't wait to get started!
How have I been feeling... I have been feeling pretty good!  I have not had any headaches during the week since I have been back to work!  I started to get a bad headache while in Hilton Head last weekend, but a little caffeine made it go away!  Brian and I were then able to enjoy ourselves and dance the night away!  I wonder what Baby Boy thought of that day... started the day jumping waves in the ocean and ended the night dancing!
Movement: Still feeling just the wave-like movements.
Food cravings:  I enjoy roasted salted almonds and dried pineapple every afternoon on my way home from work.
Happy or Moody most of the time: So happy!  School is going well and all the teachers and students are so excited for me and Brian!
Looking forward to: Another doctor's appointment on Tuesday.  I like going to these appointments and just checking that everything is good.  Busy week coming up with meetings afterschool, church, hanging out with family, and BUNCO!

Hilton Head Weekend

We had a wonderful time in Hilton Head for Brad Warnock and Kimberly Goodwin's wedding.
We left Friday around lunch time (I think this was the first time I have ever had to ask for time off the first week of school!). We rode with Brandon and Lindsay.  Brian enjoyed being a passenger so he could watch golf!
I am always so happy when headed to the beach- it is definitely my favorite place!!!
Friday night we went to the rehearsal dinner- beachside outside! Absolutely wonderful!

The rain came right at the end of the evening so we moved the party inside to hang out. We had a wonderful time- the girls just chatting while the guys played darts, foosball, and shot pool.
The next morning we were up and ready for the beach! Brian and I enjoyed jumping the waves and finding sand dollars with our toes.

We even enjoyed some beach volleyball time- it was fun but none of us will be heading to Brazil for the 2016 Olympics! We hung out at the pool the rest of the afternoon and of course the guys had to play some cornhole!

The rain started to move in as we were heading back to the room to get ready for the wedding. We were all hoping and praying the rain would move out so the wedding could take place on the beach. Hope was being held as the ceremony was delayed 30 minutes, but the rain wasn't letting up so the ceremony was held inside.
It was lovely and Brad and Kim are now Mr. and Mrs. Warnock and that is really what matters!
The reception was outside in a pavilion that could be enclosed so the rain did not stop the party! The rain eventually tapered off. The reception was a lot of fun! We danced the night away! We enjoyed the glow stick necklaces that were provided to enhance our outfits and dancing!!
The after party continued inside- the girls chatted while the guys played darts and foosball again.
We had a wonderful time away- I was sad to leave the beach!

20 Weeks! Half Way!

How far along? 20 Weeks
Maternity clothes? No.  This week at work I have been wearing just dresses and skirts that I wore pre-pregnancy.  I feel smaller this week though!
Sleep: I am still sleeping pretty well, but I have started to try to sleep on my side more so I am not sleeping as soundly as I did on my stomach.  I had horrible shoulder pain last week, and I think it was from how I was sleeping so that is why I started more on the side.  So far this week the shoulder pain has not really been an issue!
It was fun being pregnant this week... When I told my students that I was pregnant.  Of course, they wanted to know what I was having and when I was due.  Their reactions made me laugh.  They were very kind saying I did not look anything like some of the "fat pregnant people" they had seen before.  They then all had stories about some relative getting large while pregnant!  One girl told me about how grumpy her auntie was the last month before she had her baby, and the girl said I hope you won't be like that!
Exciting Moment... Brian surprised me today by having flowers delivered to me at work to mark the half-way point of my pregnancy.  It is always so exciting to get flowers delivered at work and have the students and other teachers ask about them.  Daddy-to-be did good today!
Movement: Last Friday, I felt movement!!!  It was awesome!  It felt like a little wave inside of me!  Brian was able to feel it as well!
Food cravings:  I am on a healthy kick right now of fruits and vegetables.  I eat the same thing every morning for breakfast ~ bagel with cream cheese and then for lunch a sandwich, pretzels, and plum or grapes.  On the way home from work, my snack of choice has been dried pineapple.
Have you started to show yet: Yes.  My students have been letting me know every day if they think I am showing or not.  Middle schoolers are quite funny!  One girl on Wednesday said, "Yeah you look bigger today than you did yesterday."  I agreed with her, but another boy starting yelling at the girl that you are never supposed to say anything like that to a woman!  I told him he was smart!  :)
Gender: BOY!!!  I am so excited about this!  We need to officially decide on a name though ~ right now we are thinking "Jacob Brian" and calling him Jake.  Our families seem to like it as do my students.  Middle schoolers are quite honest so I'm sure they would let me know if they did not like it!
Happy or Moody most of the time: So happy!  It has been a pretty easy week being back to school with students.  Normally the first week back, I am really tired but this week I really have not felt tired at all.  It's been great!
Looking forward to: Heading to Hilton Head for a wedding this weekend.  So excited to be going back to the beach!

The coolest feeling ever...

Is feeling Baby Boy Lunsford move last night!! It was awesome!! It felt like a little wave!

Brian and I were just laying in bed- watching Dateline (our Friday night usual) and I told Brian right away what I felt. He put his hand on my stomach where I felt it, but baby moved over a little so Brian moved his hand and the baby moved again and Brian felt it! I was so happy that he got to experience that as well!! We had been watching some of the Olympics- the swimming finals- so I think Baby Boy was showing off his swimming skills!! So cool!!

19 Weeks

How far along? 19 Weeks
Maternity clothes? No.  Another friend gave me a tote full of her maternity clothes, so I have 2 big totes now so I should be good to go when I need them.
Stretch marks? Nope! :)
Sleep: Still sleeping well and sleeping on my stomach still.
I felt pregnant when... I had to sit down after the first hour of open house today meeting my students.  There are definitely more moments when I feel pregnant.  I can tell a change in how I even walk sometimes.
Movement: I think I felt a little kicking or pushing this morning.  Pretty cool!
Food cravings:  I really like Subway!!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: I seem to be getting hungrier more often and if I don't eat right away I feel weak and sick.
Have you started to show yet: Yes.  Though when I showed up Monday for preplanning several commented that I must have left my baby at home because they didn't think I was showing much!
Gender: BOY!!!  I still am surprised by this sometimes.  Today at open house though I kept seeing some adorable little brothers of some of my students and that made me really excited to have a little boy.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Really happy!
Looking forward to: Deciding on a name for sure.  Decorating the nursery.  Brian and I cleared out the room that we will use for the nursery this past Sunday.  We plan on painting and doing the nursery during my fall break in September.  I think I am going to do a nautical theme for the nursery.
