18 Weeks

At the beach with some of Brian's family, I was 18 weeks here on Thursday, July 26!
The most exciting part of this week was finding out that Baby Lunsford is a boy!!!

The last ultrasound we had said girl so hearing 'It's a Boy!' was a big surprise! I literally started laughing because I was in such shock! Everything I pictured about having a baby involved pink and little dresses and hair bows!!! My thinking has now changed to trucks, bugs, and sports! Oh my!! We are beyond excited though and I can't wait to meet our little boy! Exciting that the Lunsford name will continue on!!

I love this little foot picture!

We found out Tuesday morning about our baby boy and it was so hard to not share the news! Brian and I had already decided to wait until we were at the beach to share the news with them. We decided to let our niece and nephew open a big box that would either have pink or blue balloons.

We arrived Wednesday night so it was too late to open the box then outside, so the kids had to anxiously wait until morning.

It was so much fun being able to see and hear everyone's reaction when the blue balloons flew up! Brian's mom and sister had predicted a girl so they were genuinely surprised and very happy! We have seven nieces and only one nephew (who is 8) so it is time to have a little boy around! This will be the first grandson for my parents!

Some reactions when people found out we were having a boy...
My sister, Andrea... 'A boy? We don't know what to do with little boys!'

Brian's sister, Brittany... 'oh my god! A boy! Oh my god!'

My niece, Emily Grace... 'A boy? I don't like boys. They just like spiderman and make so much noise and they just run around everywhere. Can't you just have a girl?' I'm sure she'll end up loving being able to boss a little boy around!!

My niece, Annistyn (she's 2) when we pointed to my stomach and told her there was a little baby boy inside... 'Open it up, I want to see him!'

My mom... 'Oh yeah, Mimi can't wait to start buying boy clothes now!'

We need help with boy names though! We need suggestions!

A Lunsford Lake Weekend

We had a great weekend with Brian's brother and Brian's dad at the lake this weekend (7/21-7/23). Brian rode down with Brandon, Lindsay, and Kylie Friday night while I stayed in Grayson hosting my bunco night. Brian said they just hung out Friday night together.
I drove down Saturday morning as did Brian's dad and Debi... In the pouring rain! It didn't look like the rain was ever going to let up, but Brandon was optimistic and it paid off as after lunch the rain stopped and we were able to go out on the boat.
The guys enjoyed some corn hole then before dinner while Kylie swam in her little pool.

After dinner we headed out for a sunset cruise. At first we thought we had missed it, but then the a beautiful sunset appeared.
Probably one of the prettiest I had ever seen out on the lake.

We ended the night with a little corn hole... 2 hours! It was me and Brian versus Brandon and Marty. It was a lot of fun! Brandon and Marty ended up winning.
Sunday the guys up and got ready to play golf at Cuscowilla.

Lindsay, Kylie, and I headed to Cuscowilla as well to hang out with Andrea, Em, and Avery Joy and enjoy some pool time with the kids.

Kylie loves splashing!

Avery Joy loved chillin' in the float!

Swimming wore these little girls out!

It's a lot to get three kids to the pool!

First Class Trash Bunco Bash

Jessica Douglas invited me to join their Bunco group a few months ago and it's so much fun. We meet the third Friday of each month and rotate houses. Jessica and I decided to host in July together at my house.

One day at the library when we didn't feel like doing work for our doctorate class, we got on pinterest and started looking at bunco themes! We settled on
trashy bunco bash and decided that everyone should dress up for this event. It was so much fun!!!!

We centered our food around the theme as well... We had fun coming up with the tags to name the food!

We promised not to post any pictures of the other ladies dressed up, but it was hilarious! They really got into it and dressed the part!!

Dogs!

Normally dogs scare me, but for some reason these two dogs tugged at my heart!
They were stray dogs that wandered up to our lake house and stayed a couple of days one weekend. They were extremely skinny- it was so sad. It was obvious they had been on their own for awhile, and needed some help. They were very sweet dogs- they didn't jump or bark! My kind of dogs! We figured they had to have been someone's pets before because they were so well behaved.
Brian tried calling animal control, but they are closed on the weekends. We ended up giving the dogs some food and water, but just leaving them there when we headed home. They had ticks and probably fleas on them so we didn't want to touch them or put them in our car. When we got home I couldn't stop thinking about them and even mentioned to Brian a couple of times how we should have brought them home! He couldn't believe what he was hearing from me! He reminded me that one dog is plenty for us!
I kept thinking about the dogs though and we had heard that a neighbor had called animal control, so I decided to email them and see of they had the dogs and how they were doing. A lady emailed me back and said they did have these two sweet dogs and they were all cleaned up and getting plenty of food and they were just waiting to be adopted. That made me feel better. I really hope someone takes them home!!

Boy or Girl???

I am so anxious to find out for sure if Baby Lunsford is a boy or a girl! We have an appointment with our specialist tomorrow so we are hoping to know the gender for sure... We were told at 12 weeks, but that is really early and we didn't tell anyone or buy anything yet. We wanted to wait until it was more of a sure thing.
When we first found out I was pregnant, I wanted a girl! I always referred to our baby as baby girl. I just always pictured myself with a little girl and saw little girl stuff everywhere in my head!
Talking to my mom one day, I made the comment that girl stuff was so much cuter and they could wear cute hair bows. I told her I thought I would do better with a girl. She told me that there really is a lot of cute boy stuff out now. She also said she thought I would do great with a little boy. She reminded me of how I nannied for two little boys during college, and she said I did a great job with them. I did remember how great those two little boys were and how much fun they were. Everyone says little boys are much less drama and easier than little girls.
I am really excited for either a boy or girl now. I just can't wait to find out!!
Brian has always said he is excited for a little boy or girl and really wouldn't pick one.
I sure hope we are able to find out for sure tomorrow!!!

17 Weeks

How far along? 17 Weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +6 pounds
Maternity clothes? No.  I prefer things without buttons though at this point, but I am still able to wear my clothes... they just aren't as comfortable.
Stretch marks? Nope! :)
Sleep: Sleeping really well!  I hope this continues when I have to go back to work in just a little over a week!
I could tell I was pregnant moment... I have never been much of an animal person.  I'm pretty much terrified of every animal especially ones I don't know.  This past weekend at the lake there were two stray dogs that hung around the house for two days.  They were very sweet dogs ~ didn't jump or bark, so my kind of dogs!  Brian fed them some and I wish we could have  done more, but we didn't know what.  They had fleas and ticks on them so we didnt want to get too close or put them in our car.  All week I have been thinking about those dogs and telling Brian we should have brought them home.  We heard a neighbor called Animal Control, so I emailed Morgan County Animal Control today to check to see if they have the dogs and how they are doing!
Miss Anything? I don't feel that too much has changed yet, so not really missing anything.
Movement: Not yet.  I'm anxious for this to start though!
Food cravings:  Still loving the bagels and cream cheese everyday!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Sweets really hurt my stomach.  Last weekend at the lake with our church friends, we had some yummy desserts and I enjoyed eating them, but I felt sick afterwards.  I'm trying to stay away now, but it is hard because I LOVE sweets.  Even passed on ice cream cake last night for Brian's mom's birthday!
Have you started to show yet: Sometimes.  This past weekend I felt that I was really showing, but then during the week I didn't feel as big.
Gender: ????
Happy or Moody most of the time: Really happy!
Looking forward to: Next Tuesday we go to our specialist again and they are supposed to do an ultrasound, so hopefully we will know the gender for sure then!!!  I cannot wait to share with everyone!  We are going to Hilton Head with Brian's family next week, and we are so excited!  I am such a beach girl, so that will be the perfect end to my summer break!

A wonderful Wednesday!

I started the day at Jackson Lake with some great girls I work with. One of the teachers, Tracie, moved last year to the lake and invited us all down for a girls day!
We had a great time on the paddle boat (that's quite a work out!), boating, chatting, and talking about how we are NOT ready for summer to end!

After leaving Jackson Lake, I headed to Conyers to watch my niece, Kylie! I picked her up at the office, and took her to Candy's (Brian's mom) house.

Kylie fell asleep in the car right away and continued to sleep for another 30+ minutes at the house.

She woke up a little scared and was not happy that her mommy or daddy was not around! We took many walks around the house, read some books, I sang (she was not a fan!!), and danced. Grandmother Candy came home and we took Kylie out to swing and she liked that, but it was so hot out, we went back inside. Soon after Kylie's mom, Lindsay, came and Kylie was all smiles! She is a very sweet baby!

We then celebrated Candy's birthday at her house after everyone else got off work. Brian's family is pretty big, so all events are big gatherings! It's fun though!

We are blessed to have such great families!
