26 Weeks

How far along? 26 Weeks
Baby Movement: Yes ~ Mom and Andrea were able to feel Jake moving around as well at the lake on Saturday!
Maternity Clothes... Yes.  Oh they are so much more comfortable! I am so appreciative of the friends who are letting me borrow their clothes!  Still wearing my old clothes too with the bella band.
Sleep: Great!! I think I had some of the best nights of sleep this week!
I loved... Picking out paint colors with my mom and Andrea! Actually, I let them decide and then just said okay that works for me!!
Some highlights from the week... Friday: Brian played golf at The Standard Club with Brandon and Lindsay's dad and brother- I caught up on Young and the Restless. Saturday: we celebrated Andrea's birthday at the lake.  Sunday: Kylie was baptized. Monday: we went to the Falcons game- they won!!! Tuesday: I took off work for a doctor's appointment and Brian kept me company for an hour in the waiting room after I had the glucose drink. Wednesday: church- those freshman girls are so funny!  Thursday: I took a half day off at work to attend a residency for my doctorate program at the Mariott Marquis in Atlanta.
How have I been feeling... I have been doing great!
Food cravings: Still bagels and cream cheese.  Fruit.
Looking forward to: Fall Break!! A week off - woo hoo!! We are going to paint the nursery!! Dad is going to help put up a chair rail on Tuesday. I hope the nursery turns out like I have it in my head!!
Doctor Stuff:   Found out I failed the glucose test so I have to go back on Tuesday and drink more stuff and sit there for 3 hours! They will draw blood then each hour. I'm not worried about the test- I'm worried about sitting there for so long!!! That's going to be so boring!!  I did get my flu shot and TDap shot Tuesday at the Heath Department (thought it was more convenient to just go there since I had taken the whole day off instead of going to my primary care doctor in McDonough.... Brian said 'wow there are some interesting people here at the Health Department!' Haha!) I ended up having to go twice that day to the Health Department because they needed extra paperwork from my doctor since I am pregnant. They faxed my dr the paperwork to sign but then it was lunch time so we had to leave.  Then there was another mix up with the fax not going through, but after many minutes being on hold and talking to my doctor's office (and Brian talking to them) and calling the Health Department a couple of times, I finally got my shots! I'm glad that is done!!

Andrea's Birthday

We had a great time on Saturday celebrating Andrea's birthday at the lake.




Happy Birthday, Andrea!




We enjoyed eating, boating, and just hanging out. We had perfect weather and a perfect day!

25 Weeks

How far along? 25 Weeks
Baby Movement: Yes ~ Lots of movement!  Brian has been able to feel Jake moving at night when we are laying in bed.  No kicks yet though. 
Maternity Clothes... Yes.  I can still wear my old clothes, but the maternity clothes are quite comfy, and I have them so I figured I might as well wear them.
Sleep: No complaints!
I loved... This week I was driving home from work and Jake seemed to be using my shunt (in my abdomen) as either a foot rest or a pillow and it was hurting me!  I was talking to Brian on the phone and I told him, "You need to tell your son to move over and not hurt mommy."  Brian was on speakerphone so he told Jake to move and Jake did!  At least he is listening to daddy now... we'll work on him listening to mommy also!
Some highlights from the week... Friday we went and saw our niece Mackenzie cheer at the high school football game.  Saturday, Brian and I went to the Yellow Daisy Festival ~ we bought our first thing that says Jacob ~ a wooden picture frame.  Also Saturday Brian went with me to register at Target and we went and picked up paint samples for Jake's nursery.  Sunday, we went to Sunday School and then had Brian's family over for the Falcons game.  Monday, I started going back to the library each week with my friend, Jessica, because another class for my doctorate program started.  Wednesday night was church with the Freshmen girls which is always entertaining! 
How have I been feeling... Really good! 
Food cravings: Still bagels and cream cheese. 
Looking forward to: A weekend with family... Saturday we are having my family to the lake to celebrate my sister, Andrea's birthday.  Then Sunday we will be going to Decatur for our niece's (Kylie) baptism.
This week seemed to really fly by.  It seems like I was just writing about 24  weeks!  Fall Break is coming up soon and I cannot wait!  I plan on getting a good bit of our nursery done.  I think I might attempt painting some stripes... we'll see!

24 Weeks

How far along? 24 Weeks
Baby Movement: Yes ~ Jacob Brian was not in my ribs or sticking his foot in my side as much this week so that was greatly appreciated! 
Maternity Clothes... I wore 2 pairs of maternity shorts this past weekend, but have not worn any this week.
Sleep: Great!  Usually I wake up about 15-20 minutes before my alarm, but this week I have only been waking up a few minutes before.  I haven't had to get up as much in the middle of the night for the bathroom either!
It's fun being pregnant... And just seeing people's faces light up when they see my baby bump.  The ladies at school are so funny with the huge smiles they get when they see me.  I love hearing their stories of when they were pregnant. 
Pregnancy Brain is Real... I have had several scatterbrained moments.  I am having a hard time learning and remembering my students' names this year!  I feel so bad!  Another moment... One morning I needed to get gas and when I got to the gas station, I could not find my wallet.  I called Brian and told him that I was going to have to come by his office and get his debit card (while praying that I would not run out of gas first!).  While talking to Brian, he helped me think about where my wallet had been and then I remembered that my purse had fallen over and my wallet was just on the side of the passenger seat! 
I loved... being at the lake with several babies this weekend for Labor Day and seeing how great Brian did with them.  Kylie (8 months) and Avery Joy (5 1/2 months) definitely are big fans of their Uncle Brian!  Kylie loved for Brian to hold her and play with her.  Brian and I watched Emily Grace and Avery Joy one night so my sister, Andrea, and her husband could go out to dinner to celebrate their 8th wedding anniversary.  Brian got Avery Joy to sleep right before we sat down for dinner so we were able to eat without having to hold her.  Avery Joy did wake up in time for dessert though so Brian got some experience holding a baby and trying to eat.
Funny moment... (This was from the previous week and I forgot to post, but it still makes me laugh!)Emily Grace told me one night "my mommy was never as big as you!"  Then the next morning I was smaller and when we got to church she said "No one is even going to know you have a baby in there now!"
How have I been feeling... This week was a really good week.  No complaints at all!
Food cravings: Still bagels and cream cheese ~ even had that for dinner Wednesday night on my way to church.
Looking forward to: A weekend at home with Brian.  We have been pretty busy and have a lot going on the rest of the month, so I am really looking forward to just being home together.  We are going to register at Target (Brian is going to go with me ~ I figured Target was a good place for him to go with me to register since there are only a few baby aisles and won't be too overwhelming!).  We are also going to look for paint colors!
