14 Weeks

How far along? 14 weeks, 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: Not sure.  I go to the doctor again Monday, so I will find out then!
Maternity clothes? No.  Still enjoying summer dresses and longer tank tops that I already had!
Stretch marks? Nope! :)
Sleep: Sleeping pretty well, but I have had to up my Tylenol PM to 3 a night.  I've been staying up a little later, but then sleeping in until about 7.  Lately, I have only been getting up once in the night for the batrhoom.
Best moment this week: Hanging out with both my sisters together and my nieces Sophia Joyce and Avery Joy.  Oh yes, and my brother-in-law, Tony!  It is rare that we are all able to hang out as Jen and her family live in Germany!
Miss Anything? I miss being able to take the headache medicine I am used to.  My headaches have been really bad the last couple of weeks and Tylenol does not help much.
Food cravings: Nothing really lately.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I felt sick when I was on the side of  I-20 by myself with a flat tire last night, but that was probably just nerves!
Have you started to show yet: Yes
Gender: Not saying yet!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Looking forward to: Finding out the gender officially and sharing it with others!

Flat...

Tire! I think I have the worst luck when it comes to tires! I had 4 flat tires last summer, and last night I got another one! Unfortunately, it was night time so it was dark and I was by myself on the side of the interstate!

I think I must have hit something because I heard some noise and then a minute later, my check tire pressure light was on and the car was starting to shake. I quickly pulled over and called AAA. I didn't even want to get out and check the tire because the traffic on the interstate seemed so close and they were going so fast. I was happy that I had just noticed a mile marker on the interstate so I was able to give AAA a pretty good idea of where I was.

AAA quickly started the process to send assistance and they asked if I wanted the police to respond. I told the lady that I didn't want to seem like a big baby but I didn't feel very safe in the dark on the side of the road like that. She reassured me that people request the police all the time.

While I was on the phone with AAA, I texted Brian and told him I had a flat tire on I-20. He was at the Braves game a distance away so I knew there was nothing he could do to help. After I hung up with AAA, Brian tried to talk to me and give me a play by play of the Braves game. I was a little distracted and scared worrying about the traffic and being by myself, I wasn't really able to follow the game but it was sweet of Brian to try to help!

A sheriff's deputy responded pretty quickly and I was very comforted having him behind me with his lights on. The traffic moved over a lane and slowed down since he was there.

A tow truck with AAA responded pretty quickly and got my spare put on (I was thankful that there was not too much stuff in my trunk!). Driving on a spare tire on the interstate was not so fun either! The tow truck driver told me to not go over 45mph and just drive with my emergency flashers on. The speed limit is 70mph so all the cars and trucks were flying around me!

I was so happy to finally pull into our garage around midnight and get out of that car!!!

13 Weeks (while on our cruise)

We were on our cruise when I was 13 weeks so I am writing this a little late...

How far along? 13Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: I have no idea.  I didn't weigh myself before leaving for our cruise.
Size of baby: Baby Lunsford is the size of a peach!
Maternity clothes? Not yet. I wore mostly summer dresses on the cruise, so no buttons to worry about!
Sleep: I slept great on the cruise.  I guess being very relaxed is a good thing!
Cravings: There was no way I could resist all the yummy desserts on the cruise!

Aversions:  Any meat other than chicken, fried shrimp, or a cheeseburger does not seem very appetizing to me.  Brian tried all sorts of things on the cruise like duck, frog legs, and shark!  I wanted none of that!
Gender: We unofficially know!  We went to the specialist the Friday before we left for our cruise.  At first I thought I was only going in for some bloodwork and even discussed with Brian whether he should come or not.  He ended up coming with me, and we had the coolest ultrasounds done (including 4D).  The lady told us the gender, but told us we shouldn't tell anyone or buy anything just yet.  We are waiting until our next ultrasound before sharing.
Weekly Wisdom: Enjoy!  It really will all go by so fast.  My first trimester is ending!
What I am looking forward to: Finding out the gender for sure and being able to share with everyone!
Showing at all? I definitely feel like I have a little bump starting.  It depends on the outfit and how I am standing though.

Dream ~ Day 4 at St. Thomas and St. John

The main reason we chose this cruise was because of its stop in St. Thomas and then we could ferry over to St. John.  Brian lived on St. John for 6 months, so he was excited to be able to show me around.

Pulling into St. Thomas...

The ferry ride to St. John was only about 20 minutes so that was not bad at all.  Brian immediately started smiling as we started to pull into St. John and he started to recognize things.

This was one of the bars that Brian would frequent when he lived here.  They have $1 Happy Hour drink specials!

Upstairs is where Brian worked while he lived here (though it has changed names since then)...

We then decided to take a taxi up to Trunk Bay.  This was an adventure... The taxi is just a pick up truck that has two benches along the inside of the bed of the truck.  Nothing really to hold onto, and the taxi drivers go very fast up the hills and around the curves.  Our taxi driver was going a little fast and ended up rearending the taxi in front of us!  Since there was nothing for me to hold onto, I was slammed into the front part of the truck.  I ended up scraping my knee and getting some bruises on my arm.  The taxi driver did not check to see if we were okay, instead he got out of the truck yelled at the guy he had just hit and then got back in the truck and we drove away!  It was bizarre!  It made for a memory though!  I laughed because Brian had thought about renting a car and I told him that we should just take taxis because I thought that would be safer! Ha!

The taxi driver did stop so we could get some awesome pictures overlooking Trunk Bay...

I was completely beside myself with how beautiful the beach at Trunk Bay was.  The water was so clear.  This beach is often rated in the top 10 beaches around the world!

We could even see a sting ray swimming around us!

We decided to head up to another beach at Cinnamon Bay (Kenny Chesney sings about this place in one of his songs and has a house there)... Breathtaking again...

We had a great time in St. John and I can't wait for Brian to take me back!

The most beautiful sunset was when we were leaving St. Thomas!

We appreciated the teenage boy on the balcony next to us that volunteered to jump over the railing to get a picture for me and Brian together with the sunset!

Dream ~ Day 3 at Sea

We enjoyed a day at sea as we traveled south to our next port at St. Thomas.  The ship had so much to keep us busy so the day at sea was very fun.

We started the morning with room service for breakfast and enjoyed eating on our balcony...

We watched some amazing break dancers...

Brian enjoyed the waterslide... I decided it was too fast for me.

We enjoyed just laying out and some refreshing drinks... (different drinks of choice of course!)

We also watched a magician...

I loved keeping up with our location on the GPS on our tv...

And we enjoyed another amazing sunset that night...

Dream ~ Day 2 Nassau

We had been to Nassau, Bahamas a couple of years ago on a cruise, so we decided to skip any sightseeing and just head to the beach.  It was a beautiful day, and we had fun just hanging out at the beach.  The waves were extremely rough and high, but we had a great time playing in the ocean and jumping the waves.  A couple of times I was taken under and even ended up with ocean burn on my legs!

I was always nervous about being too far away from the ship and it leaving us, so I always made sure we were alwasy back in plenty of time!

We really enjoyed having a balcony on this cruise.  We were in the very back of the ship, and we had the best view for some awesome sunsets!

Dream ~ Day 1

We arrived in Port Canaveral a little after noon on Saturday and it was quite impressive to see the ship we were about to get on!  It was quite large!  The Dream is Carnival's largest ship and it was very nice!

We took a few hours just exploring the ship and enjoying some sun.  I knew I could handle this for a few days!

We set sail a little after 4pm.  We first went to our safetey course ~ Brian said we could skip it but I was too afraid that they would be taking names of who was and was not there.  They did not and the course basically only told us to make sure the life jacket goes over your head.  I'm glad we did not need any other safety tips this trip.

We set our dinner time for the late seating to have more time during the day to see and do things.  It is always interesting that first night showing up for dinner and wondering who you will be seated with.  We were seated at a booth, so it would just be one other couple with us.  We were there first, so we sat for a few minutes hoping they would be pretty cool because we would be dining with them for the next 7 nights!  To our delight, it was a very nice couple celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary.  They were from Pennsylvania.  We had a good time each night with them at dinner and a couple of times went to some shows together after dinner.
We finished the first night at the Welcome Aboard Show.  It was a variety show of all the different shows that we could see for the upcoming week.  It was very entertaining and got me excited for all the fun activities we could partake in over the next few days.

Every night I looked forward to getting the itinerary for the next day and seeing what shape the towel on our bed would be.

First Year Anniversary Trip...

Turned into a Babymoon Trip as well.

We started planning a trip for our one year anniversary before we knew I was pregnant. We went back and forth on where we should go- Europe again and visit my sister? We had such a great time on our first trip there and would love to go back. We also love the beach and wanted a relaxing trip. After we found out I was pregnant, we decided to forego Europe thinking it would be a lot with all the sightseeing we would want to do.

We decided a cruise was a good option for us. I have only been on one cruise before, and despite the colder weather, I loved it! I love all the cruise activities and the ease of someone else worrying about the transportation.

Brian booked a 7-day cruise to Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. We chose this cruise so we could ferry over to St. John while at St. Thomas. Brian lived in St. John for 6 months, so I'm excited for him to show me around.

I am really looking forward to some warm weather, sun, the beach, and most importantly just hanging out with Brian!

An appointment to remember...

We had an appointment at our specialist's office today for some testing.  I thought they were going to just do some blood work.  Brian and I talked about if he needed to even come with me.  He ended up coming with me, and we are so thankful that he did.  I would have been upset if he had missed seeing our baby dance, clap, and pray.  And, I really would have hated for him to miss hearing the nurse tell us the gender of our baby!!!

The nurse that we had today was awesome.  She took so much time with us during the ultrasound and showed us every little finger, 2 legs, 2 arms, 2 eye sockets, a stomach, and the brain!  I cannot believe you can see all that!

She asked us if we wanted to know the gender and we were both like you can already tell???? She told us she would try, but not to buy anything pink or blue just yet.  At first, Baby Lunsford was being a little stubborn (my fault I didn't eat anything so baby was still sleeping).  The nurse was determined to find out for us though ~ she shook my stomach, made me turn around different ways, and I coughed a couple of times.  It worked, and she told us we are having a baby _____. We are going to wait until the next ultrasound before sharing the news to just make sure though.

We thought she was done with us, but then she grabbed another wand.  I was like what is the difference in this one and she said, "Just a minute and you will see!"  She decided to do a 4D ultrasound for us and it was amazing!  It was unbelievable to see our baby so clear like that moving around!

She printed out a bunch of pictures for us, and made us promise not to let anyone in the waiting room see them as they would not be getting that many pictures.  She said she was having fun with us and there weren't any doctors in so she could take more time with us.  So nice!

We then met with the nurse practitioner who was so nice as well.  She said the other nurse commented how much she liked us and that is why she gave us such a detailed ultrasound session.  With the nurse practitioner, we went over the different screening tests for any abnormalities.  She said so far everything looked really good on our ultrasound.
