The first anniversary traditional gift is paper, so Brian got me concert tickets and cruise tickets!
Brian bought tickets for us to go to the "Brothers of the Sun" concert featuring Kenny Chesney and Tim McGraw. The night I met Brian he was talking about how he had tickets to the Kenny Chesney concert for later in the week, and we both talked about how much we loved his music and going to his shows. We decided that the next time Chesney was in Atlanta we would go together. We got tickets to go to his show last year, but Brian ended up having his bachelor party that weekend so we couldn't go. Brian found out about this tour with McGraw and Chesney before I did so he surprised me with tickets. Some of his family went to the concert with us also, and we all had a great time tailgating beforehand. Then we headed into the Georgia Dome for the show! The almost 7 hour concert was so much fun!
Brian and I are also going on a cruise next week to continue our anniversary celebration. The cruise is for 7 days, and we will be stopping in Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Maarten. While in St. Thomas we will take a ferry over to St. John, and Brian will show me where he lived for 6 months. He loves St. John and I can't wait to go there with him! Brian also surprised me by upgrading the cruise so we will have a room with a balcony!
For the night of our anniversary we went to a hibachi grill near our house that we love. It did not disappoint that night either. We had a lovely time sitting with a couple that was celebrating thier 46th anniversary that night. We enjoyed hearing their stories.
I surprised Brian with brown PAPER bag memory gifts for our annivesary. I found this idea on Pinterest and adapted it a little to work for us. Each paper bag has a time written on it that represents a date of a special memory from the year. Inside each bag is a little note and a gift that represents that date and memory and Brian opened each bag at the designated time. For some memories, I just put a picture in a card from an event and wrote about the memory.

7:04 ~ Fireworks... memory of going to Stone Mountain Laser and Fireworks show
7:05 ~ Nutella to Go... memory of him proposing at the top of the Eiffel Tower in Paris (not from this past year, but the proposal is what led us to getting married)
7:09 ~ Hawaiian Flower Lei... memory of hosting a luau at the lakehouse
7:18 ~ Tennis Balls... memory of Brian and me joining a tennis league and realizing having fun is way more important than winning (okay that's more my opinion!)
7:30 ~ Beer... memory of hanging out at the lakehouse and beating everyone in cornhole
8:13 (or 4:02) ~ Golf Balls... memory of going to PGA Championship and the Masters
8:28 ~ Fantasy Football magazine... memory of hosting the Draft party at our house (and reminding Brian that he should listen to whom his wife recommends picking for his team!)
