Thursday, July 5th- it was just me and Brian at the lake. July 5th has become one of my favorite days- two years ago on this day Brian made me the happiest girl when he proposed in Paris at the top of the Eiffel Tower! I decided that I would let Brian decide today at the lake everything we did. I love to see his excitement and joy being down there. We enjoyed a canoe ride, playing on the sandbar with Winnie, boating, swimming, a dinner date at Bone Island Grill, and then watched 'Act of Valor' back at the lake house, and I made banana nutella crepes for dessert.
Friday- Andrea had to work in Madison so we volunteered to watch Emily Grace for the day. I made crepes again for breakfast (Em called them chocolate tacos) and then we did a little picking up at the lake house and then it was time for fun! We headed out on the boat- fished a little (Em asked after about 15 seconds if we caught anything yet!! Haha no!), swam, and floated around. We headed back to the house and had lunch. Em then wanted to go on the canoe so we went for a ride and played on the sandbar with Winnie. Em was a little disappointed when she saw Andrea drive up to take her home. She was having fun and wasn't ready to leave. She was excited to hear though they would be back the next day. She said great I'll see you early in the morning then. Andrea told her they could come after lunch! Brian's mom and step dad joined us at the lake a little while later.
Saturday- Candy's friend, Leslie and her daughter, Kate came down late morning along with Brian's sister, Brittany, and her girls, Mackenzie and Annistyn. They all set out on the boat while Brian and I had lunch and waited for Andrea and her girls. We were then ready to get on our boat and meet up with the others on their boat. They returned to the house though and said there was a boat broken down and they were going to tow them up the river back home. We decided the guys could take our boat and help the stranded boat while the girls went with Candy on her boat. We boated for a little while and then anchored and swam and floated. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed several hours out there. The girls then decided that they wanted to go tubing. Emily Grace loved it and kept saying faster and that she wanted more waves! We then headed back to the lake house to get dinner started. Such a fun day!!
Sunday- I was up early writing another paper and then had a few hours to enjoy time with Brian's family. We then started the cleaning process to be able to head back home.
It was such a wonderful time at the lake! Many memories made!
