Happy 4 Months!

Dearest Jake,

Wow what a great 4 months it has been! Definitely better than your daddy and I imagined!
You are really starting to get stronger and more alert. You are holding your head up on your own and you try to stretch out of your car seat. You love to be held especially if the person holding you is standing.  You only like facing out when being held though so you can see everything!

Life changed the week before you turned 4 months as I went back to work to finish the school year. I know it's temporary but I sure do miss our days together! You have adjusted just fine though. I went back to work on a Wednesday and your daddy worked from home for three days. He had a great time with you, but he also saw it is not an easy job taking care of a baby all day! I think he'll understand if the house is not spotless when he gets home from work!

Your Aunt Brittany is watching you the next few months during the day while I work.  You love seeing your cousins Annistyn and Mackenzie everyday.  You have done a great job with our long commute (over an hour).  You sleep in the morning the whole way there and you sleep some on the way or just listen to mommy sing (I'm sorry!  You seem to like my singing!)

I'm putting my career on hold for awhile after this school year to stay home with you! I feel so blessed to be able to do that! It is definitely the best gift to be able to spend so much time with you! Definitely better than any material possession!

You have been a very happy baby. You smile all the time and have recently really started laughing! It's the best sound ever to hear you chuckle!

We took you to the doctor the other day for your 4-month check up. You weighed 14lbs and 4.5oz. You are 24.5 inches long. You are definitely our growing boy! The doctor was concerned that your head grew a little too much since your last check up so you will have an ultrasound done in a couple of days. The doctor told us not too worry that it probably just means you have a bigger brain and will be really smart!
